La Gloria Cubana Serie D No. 5 is a Petit Robusto, measuring at 110mm with a 50 ring gauge. This cigar is part of the Edicion Regional program, being the 11th ER for the brand.
They are sold in boxes of 10, with a total of 50,000 boxes available. While these were scheduled for release in 2017 they did not hit the international markets until 2018.
The Paraiso Carribean is hand rolled in a richly colored wrapper that displays two bands, with the second being its regional designation and is finished with a traditional triple cap. Aromas off the top were a mixture of peanut, vanilla and cedar, with the cold draw bringing notes of cinnamon cocoa and a touch of fruit.
Flavours that came through were similar to the aromas with cocoa and cinnamon being the most pronounced, while the overall strength was mild. The draw is sharp with the body and strength picking up slightly in the second half to hit the medium mark, with some additional notes of cream and white pepper pushing through.
Overall a versatile smoke that you can expect to enjoy for around 75 minutes.
