Overview: Partagas Maduro No.3
The Partagas Maduro No. 2 is a Robusto Extra vitola, carrying a 50 ring gauge. The No. 2 & No. 3 were both released in 2018 following the success of their Maduro sibling, the Maduro No 1.
The maduro leaves are some of the most exclusive leaves, being harvested from the top of the shade grown plant. They are cured aged and naturally fermented creating the beautiful color and deep rich flavour that many find to add a sweetness to the flavour profile.
As we unwrapped the No. 3 we were instantly greeted with a unique herbaceous aroma of earth, warm tobacco and a hint of mint. The cold draw had another profile entirely with notes of cedar, black pepper and coffee that carried through into the full flavours that came billowing out of the abundance of velvety smooth smoke. The deep flavours mellowed slightly by the second third, offering a luxurious chocolatey note that mingled with the black pepper deliciously, until it gave way to the traditional Partagas flavours of cedar leather and vanilla that took us to the end of this finger burner.
Given the rich depth of flavours, we highly recommend pairing this cigar with a single malt scotch or Kentucky bourbon to enhance this fine smoking experience that you can expect to enjoy for around 75 minutes.
